wonderful weather!
hey everyone.
we had some exquisite weather this weekend up here. pretty rare for our part of the city, but it was 75 degrees today. we spend some time with the gards this morning for brunch and then came home and finally setup the sound system for the backyard (where I am once again, enjoying a cold beer and writing this update.) owen is currently napping — he has a bit of a cold and is really congested. to the point that he was wheezing pretty heavily the other evening. we took him to the e.r. just to be safe, it sounded like one of my asthma attacks… but we got there and he was fine and we looked like stupid, paranoid, our-kid-is-sick-and-the-world-is-ending type of parents.
let’s see — in other news. did i mention we put speakers out back? 
it’s pretty damned cool. we’re listening to the be good tanyas right now. kinda country, mostly country actually. nice stuff though. check it out.
kara is currently building a custom dog house for phoebe. as much as we enjoy the sun, we’re not covered in layers upon layers of fur. she gets pretty hot out here and occasionally needs a break. her idea of a break was to sit in the planter beds, where presumably, the dirt is a bit cooler than the black rubber pellets in the grass. so she’d sit back there and look all sad-like. so kara is building one sweet-ass dog house for her. then we’re going to plant around her so the plants grow up the sides of the dog house… should be pretty nice in the end.
next big project is going to be the kitchen. we’ll, of course, keep the empty void of this blog posted.
owen is growing like crazy. he’s ‘talking’ a lot more right now. and we think he finally learned how to sign the word ‘more’ to us when he’s hungry. go figure. it’s the only word we taught him i think. we need to get that going before too long. he’s continuing to be stressed out about walking… he took some serious diggers this weekend… a few bumps on the head a bunch of crying…
