changes in the little man, changes in the site.

hey all,

owen is yapping up a storm now. he says banana, but not quite like that… he says mama quite a lot now and is learning at such a rate it is incredible to watch. you don’t want to miss a day at this point as his little brain soaks up whatever it can. he is running all over the place at this point and is, in general, a unbelievably happy baby. owen is learning how to have tantrums as well, but they tend to be fewer and farther between and generally he knows that he can’t have certain things. so, he does this thing where he arches his back and stiffens like a board. it’s pretty funny. he still only has four teeth. i’m dreading when the molars come in.

we’re also getting ready for our ephemeral san francisco summer, which starts around now and lasts such a short time that we have to make the most of it. i imagine we’ll be spending a lot of time in the backyard on the nice days we get out here in the sunset.

tomorrow we take owen to the treasure island music festival to check out built-to-spill, spoon and modest mouse. should be a good show, but it’s going to be a pain in the butt to get out there. there’s no parking on the island, so we have to take a shuttle bus from san francisco to the bay bridge to the show and back again. going to be quite the adventure. and i hear it is incredibly cold out there on the water, so we’ll see. i think this is the only year they’re going to do this, which is a shame, because with a few tweaks and slightly less hassle, i bet people would go in droves.

kara and i are starting to discuss the revamp on the kitchen — this will be kitchen 3.0. as usual, kara has a bunch of ideas for the kitchen that are going to be awesome. i am so happy with what she did with the backyard… i’m learning how to get out of the way and let her make all the decisions. it just works better that way…

there are some small changes to the site — notably the navigation bar is off to the right now. we’re doing that for a good reason — we’re going to be combining the site with flickr to allow for easier server storage, etc. when it’s on flickr, i don’t need to worry about the photos taking up so much space on the local server. blah, blah, blah, tech, tech, tech. there’s some other reasons too, but i don’t want to spoil the fun yet.

as always, work is totally crazy. i thought an event that happened this past monday happened two mondays ago. it’s been a long few weeks, but everything is moving along at a reasonable pace. i even started taking “early” wednesdays. my plan is to get in at 7:30 and leave by 4:45 so i can spend more time with owen and kara. i have people on the team kicking me out of the building and everything. i love who i work with.

ah well… sorry for the rambling. photos updated.
