piss and vinegar…
we’re being stalked by the little man now. he is realizing that he can throw a tantrum and get more of what he wants. we’re learning not to give into him at this point… but, oh well, he is so damned cute. he ruined my keyboard today, i had to run out and get another one. it was this rube goldberg motion of owen knocking over a huge spool of cloth that kara bought to make some slip covers for some chairs — that then fell onto the wall and onto my desk and into my cup of coffee and then the coffee went all over the keyboard.
oh well, i should get used to it, right? i’m sure he’s going to ruin more than just a keyboard in his lifetime.
arsenal is doing really well in the epl this year — much to my surprised (and delight!) we taught owen that when i say ‘goal’ he is to put his hands in the air. and, since he is also going to be a pirate for halloween, we’re teaching him to make an ‘argh!’ sound when we ask him ‘what sound does a pirate make?’ incidentally, if you missed it, last week was talk like a pirate day. was pretty funny up here in sf — people were, quite literally, talking like pirates at work and at the coffee shop…
i’m slowly continuing to upgrade the site. i am probably going to ditch the photo gallery software we’re running. it’s good and everything, but i think i am going to integrate flickr instead. that way i don’t have to deal with the bandwidth issues on the server, not to mention storage and everything else. i am pretty close to some other site upgrades, but they’re more for me to learn how this all works, given that our audience consists of grandparents (mostly) who don’t really care about the subtleties of technology. i’m not even sure my mother reads this part of the site. i still think she skips straight to the pictures.
not much more to add at this point. hope you’re all well. we’re cheering for sean and cindy, who are expecting soon!
