we’re not actually going to call anyone — rather, i’m starting the clock from the time this is posted to see how long it takes folks to catch up. uh, surprise, mom. she’s probably going to be pissed, but then she’ll realize that we’re doubling up on the grandparent chips. email us to start the race. she was 12 weeks on sunday. we’re due august 5th.
kara is going to start writing some entries now that she’s preggers again, and the belly photo will make a return for sure, just give us some time to let this all sink in.
owen has been such a magical addition to our family, we’re really excited and (although i’m not religious) blessed that another child is going to join our family. we’re not going to find out if it is a boy or a girl. this one will be a surprise.
kara is back on the midnight peanut butter snacks, that’s how we know for sure. she wakes up, eats peanut butter right out of the jar (with a spoon) and then goes back to bed.
another whirlwind is going to overtake our life, dominate it in that way that children can. dominate it with happiness, worry, sleepless nights and charm. dominate it with giggles, cooing, diapers and milk-puke. dominate it with that feeling you have when you first hold your own child. dominate it with car-seats, strollers, onesies and elmo (which is still dominating us).
it is, however, a domination that you give into so completely, that you let it take you over in its entirety. are you prepared? not totally. are you worried? sure. it is worth every sleepless night, nuclear diaper and milk stained shoulder? you bet your ass, it is.
it’s on. round two… fight!

congrats, congrats. Marc and I are thrilled for you all. And the world will be a better place with your #2 in it. He or she is obviously beautiful - Owen watch out - you may have competition for cutest baby in the world.
CONGRATS! That is so very exciting! We can’t wait to meet baby #2. And we know that Owen will be a fabulous big brother too.

Uh, yeah. The quote from my mom was, “If I wasn’t so happy, I’d clobber you.” And then from my dad, “I have a bone to pick with you.” Took all of my pleading not to get written out of the will, which incidentally, my father had told me he’d done.
