you finally got your tricycle today.  we bought it two months ago and kept it hidden the way parents do.  you had a big party yesterday where a bunch of friends and family came by to give you pocket change.  for the record, that included more than one twenty dollar bill and, at least in [...]

uh. yeah.  we’ve got serious problems.  they’re probably on some watch list now…  and no, we’re not trying to spark a political debate here.  kara and i couldn’t stop laughing when we saw this.

owen and i got up this morning to catch the euro games on tv — almost two years ago, we watched the world cup together when he was barely three days old.  back then, we could swaddle him and place him on our chests like a little burrito.
two years later, owen sat quietly on the couch [...]

this morning i woke up at about 5:30 because i have this idea for something that i can’t get out of my head.  i laid there this morning waiting for owen to wake up with his usual series of cries.  he doesn’t wake up that well.  he gets it from kara.  she doesn’t wake up that [...]

everyone knows what a smart ass john can be, especially to his dear parents. well the “apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”. owen already in his very limited vocabulary managed to call john a “pain in the ass” this evening.
