sunday: the party
we realized that sunday had two major events associated with it. 1) it was a meet harrison brunch (officially, since aimee was there) and 2) it was the first time the three families of the littlehellraiser community were able to meet up in one spot.
we got some awesome photos of the three kids, ate french toast, had mimosas and in general reminded ourselves of how lucky we are to have such awesome friends.
the dad’s swapped horror stories of the early stages of parenthood. the mom’s worked out some fancy-ass nursing bra and how awesome it was. that freaks me out. i hate those pumps as they are — “whoot, whoot, whoot, whoot, whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot, whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot, whooooooooooooooooooooot.”
kara and i got a primer in being parents of a newborn again — there’s so many things you forget — like how often you need to change a newborn, how orten they need to eat, how much they sleep. oh, and yeah, they can’t talk to you… owen did really good with little harrison, which is encouraging.
we finished the day having dinner at namu.
we decided at the end of the day that we’re going to annualize a group meet — it was, and forgive the sentimentality, just a really fun weekend. the kids are so close together in age — owen: 2, tyler: 1, harrison: 2 months, sequel: harrison - 2 months. next year we do this again — aimee and nicole get to pick where.
thank you all for coming. now go visit tyler and harrison’s sites.
