ready to be a big brother
so over the past couple of weeks i’ve been reworking (painting, sewing changing pad covers, recovering the chair, making a mobile and purchasing various accessories) the nursery to look a little different for the new baby. i’m not sure what owen remembers of the old nursery and i didn’t want to have to contend with any feelings of being displaced. i brought owen down to check out the “new” nursery. i told him it was for the baby, our baby, mama’s, papa’s and owen’s baby. he replied “finn” who is lexie’s new baby boy, “tyler“, nicole and todd’s son and then “harry“, marc and aimee’s little boy who has slept there more than once. just when i thought the concept was too abstract for him, today when we were putting some laundry away in the nursery, i asked him “who’s room is this?” and he replied “the baby’s” and patted my tummy. he went around the room inspecting all the little toys, saying “for the baby” he particularly liked some of the toys but put them back in place saying “for the baby”. i think owen is ready to be a big brother. which makes me very happy.

Wow looks great, just need the baby and you are all set.
I am so excited
that is so incredibly sweet. owen is going to be so kind and generous - as he is with everybody he knows - to his new sibling. the chowanec family is an inspiration.
kara - the nursery is perfect. great work - as always.
what a transformation on the nursery! only tells how talented you are! and hooray for the momma for raising a son like owen - kind, thoughtful and loving! he will be a good big brother, for sure! God bless this family always!
it takes two. so, don’t forget about the mailman, he’s played his part in raising owen as well. or was it the ups guy? or was the pool boy?
oooops! ‘forgot the big guy who has a big influence in the character building of the little man. mea culpa! must be a lapse of the senior moment that often revisits me. sorry John!
