dylan is one week old and doing really well. he’s sleeping well (well enough), eating well (although a little lazy) and sure is cute.
at first i thought he looked just like owen. now i think they definitely look like brothers but there are some clear differences. he definitely has a [...]

john and i apparently produce kids with long skinny feet and toes. dylan’s foot is actually the same length as his shin. now look down at your leg, proportionally it’s crazy.

dylan got his first bath last night. we used to bathe owen in the sink but since we’ve remodeled there is something about bathing your child in a deep stainless steel sink that lacks the charm of bathing your child in a crappy, old and nearly broken ceramic sink.
so kara went with our next [...]

we, evidently, don’t raise kids who know how to sleep. not sure what it is about us… kara loves to sleep, and i certainly like to sleep more than 2 hours at a time. little dylan was pissed last night in the hospital. he wouldn’t eat at all and went from crying to falling asleep [...]

…squeaks when he cries.
(after last night)
…it turns into this machine gun sound. doesn’t bother us nearly as much as it did with owen… i guess that’s a good thing?

thank you lexie and casper… garibaldis is awesome. at the hospital they provide you this ‘champagne dinner’ which consists of basically overcooked steak or chicken, some boiled vegetables and apple cider. they don’t even give you champagne. we learned all this the first time out with owen… it’s all well intentioned, so [...]

even though i had pitocin and an epidural, i felt completely aware of the process. the experience this time around was so much more relaxing and enjoyable. i was so much more in tune with what was happening. i knew when to ask for the epidural, i knew when i was close [...]
