time to start weaning

i’ve never had a problem with breastfeeding. i experienced a little soreness with owen but none with dylan. it was very easy and convient to always have a way to feed dylan. owen self weaned himself at 10 months, but i don’t think dylan is going to do that. i think i’ll have to take the lead on this one. i was thinking i’d nurse dylan to 1 year but that has changed. dylan has started signing and his manual dexterity is getting so good that he practically helps himself when it comes to nursing. i had my change of heart the other day while dylan was nursing one breast, sat up signed “more” and pulled my shirt and bra on the other breast off, it suddenly felt like i was nursing a kid, not a baby. time to start weaning.
