the new basics: a-to-z baby & child care for the modern parent by michel cohen, m.d.
this is our absolute bible. we constantly use this book to read up on what we’re facing. we used it a lot during kara’s pregnancy as well. honestly, can’t live without this one. go get it, if you’re preggers.

the petit appetit cookbook by lisa barnes
this is pretty novel. it’s a cookbook for introducing food to your baby. not a bad idea. we’ll keep you posted.

no-cry sleep solution by elizabeth pantley
the title, well, should speak for itself.

eats, poops & leaves by adam wasson
Lent to us by friends of ours (thanks nate and sonia) - this is a pretty funny take on baby etiquette. everything from baby naming etiquette to traveling with a baby etiquette.

the baby owner’s manual by louis borgenicht
the baby owner’s maintenance log
by louis borgenicht

a pretty cool pair of books written like an automotive or appliance owner’s manual. we’re big fans.

an in utereo read for the baby.

the girlfriends’ guide to pregnancy (or everything your doctor won’t tell you) by vicki iovine
a very funny book about being pregnant, written in an incredibly honest tone. i think it has really answered more questions than our doctor will.

the lila guide: baby friendly - san francisco bay area by nina thompson
a pretty cool guide that uncovers places to go with newborns, etc. written like a travel guide where restaurants, parks, maternity stores, children’s haircuts, etc. are all rated on a 5 star system.

beyond jennifer & jason, madison & montana by linda rosenkrantz & pamela redmond satran
yet another naming book… they’re pretty much all the same.
